Low Value Shipment (LVS) Threshold Increases

Effective January 8, 2013, Canada and United States have increased and harmonized their low-value shipment (LVS) threshold for expedited customs clearance to $2,500 in each of their respective currencies.

These changes were part of commitments by both countries under the Beyond the Border Action Plan to harmonize low-value shipment processes to expedite customs clearance administration with resulting economic benefits to both countries.
