April CBSA Update

As most cross border carriers are aware, CBSA is again experiencing delays in processing of all EDI and Portal messages. CBSA has indicated that they have identified the issue which caused the most recent system outage, and are now investigating how to resolve the issue so it does not occur in the future.

Many carriers have expressed concerns about being issued AMPS penalties which may be caused by the CBSA system outage issues. CTA is working with CBSA to ensure that no AMPS penalties will be assessed by CBSA related to ACI compliance during the system outage.

CTA will be speaking with CBSA once more regarding the latest system issues, and the significant impact these recurring problems are having on carrier’s operations, costs, and productivity.

NOTE: All details pertaining to CARM R2 processes are based on the current information available at the time of writing. As this is subject to change, it’s recommended you periodically check in with the CBSA or your customs broker.
