President Trump Announces New Trade Deal With the Philippines

At the conclusion of a visit at the White House by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos on July 22, President Trump announced that his administration reached a trade deal with the Philippines in which the Southeast Asian country agreed to open its market to U.S. goods at zero tariffs.

Philippine goods will pay a 19% tariff upon entry into the U.S. market. President Trump congratulated President Marcos, calling him a “tough, negotiator” in a Truth Social post.
