What options does a company have with FTA?

There are 3 options to consider:

  1. Use the recommended services of a Customs Broker to handle any services related to FTA such as record keeping, maintenance, and consulting.
  2. Do not participate in FTA. Be charged the Most Favoured Nation duty rate on all transactions when FTA preferential duty rates apply.
  3. Take care of all FTA issues yourself and do not get charged for performing those services. A Declaration letter on company letterhead is required for CBSA purposes.
